The feast of St.Efisio
The feast of St.Efisio, the patron saint of Capoterra (since 2003) as well as St. Barbara, falls at the beginning of the new year; indeed it is celebrated on January 1st.
Villa St.Efisio (see "History of Capoterra") was named after the saint.

S' incontru
On Easter Sunday there is S'Incontru (The Meeting), a feast that celebrates the evangelical event of the announcement of the Resurrection of Christ to the Madonna and involves all the community. The sacred images, followed by the faithful, meet in the town centre and converge with the waiting crowd to form a single procession which weaves its way over a bed of petals and aromatic plants. The Salutation between Christ and The Madonna is celebrated with hymns and prayers. A really fascinating and evocative event you cannot miss.
Festival of St. Efisio
One of the Europe's greatest religious events is the Festival of Sant'Efisio, celebrated on May 1st. The faithful observe the vow made by the Holy martyr from Cagliari who freed the island from the Plague. The procession starts from Cagliari and continues to Nora (about 40 Km distant!) but in the afternoon, it makes a stop in the small church in Su Loi consecrated to the Saint. This celebration has both religious and historical characteristics; indeed, you can admire not only the traccas, old agricultural carts, decorated with flowers and cockades, drawn by oxen which are accompanied by groups in the traditional colourful costumes of many Sardinian villages but also the seventeenth-century costumes of the arciconfraternita di Sant'Efisio (the mounted Militiamen), as well as that of the Alter Nos' (the Viceroy). Further, there are the launeddas (a sort of ancient Sardinian bug-pipe) players who precede the precious coach of the Saint.
Festival of St. Barbara
In the first week of July people celebrate the two-day festival of Santa Barbara, in September the festival of San Gerolamo and in October that of San Francesco: a good opportunity to enjoy the traditional taste of a village festival, an occasion of great amusement.
Feast of St. Gerolamo
This is a very recent feast that dates back to 1990 and is celebrated in September.
Feast of St. Francesco
In October, Capoterra celebrates St. Francesco which is another event not to miss.
