La Maddalena
This is an area of coastline under development. In the past it was already known not only because of the Pisan invaders having used it as a lending place in the hostilities against the Genoese but also because in the past it was a place of arrival of the train which transported the iron from St. Leone mines.
Nowadays, people know it better as La Maddalena Beach since the beach is well patronised, especially the inhabitants of Capoterra and the neighbouring villages.
Since 2001 it has been equipped with new sports and tourist facilities.
The sea is full of fish so in all seasons many fishermen go there where they can also take part to fishing tournaments.
This beach is a real paradise for surfers: it is windy all year round because of thermal undercurrents.
