23rd Comunità Montana
The 23rd Comunità Montana has its headquarters in Capoterra, at Is Olias, which is responsible for a vaste area that includes the municipalities of Capoterra, Sarroch, Villa San Pietro, Assemini and Uta. This territory houses the WWF naturalistic oasis, Monte Arcosu Reserve that covers 3.722 hectares and includes not only the mountain after which it has been named, but also the Gennastrinta and monte Lattias.
This consortium wants to develop the economy, to share the management of all its commune's services and to carry out public works such as the upkeep of roads. It also aims at protecting and increasing the value of the area's cultural and environmental heritage - in a phrase, its fauna and flora.
Moreover, it professionally supports the voluntary fire-fighting service offering them an office and the tools to intervene in case of fire.
